What up y’all! Happy Monday 🙂
I’m thinking that I am going to start doing Monday “chit chat” posts so y’all can get to know me a little better and get a look into my life! This weekend was definitely an adventure and I want to share it.
My epic cheat meal–DONUTS GALORE!
So, if you didn’t know already, this Friday was Krispy Kreme’s 80th birthday, and, of course, I was going to celebrate it! I drove an hour, waited an hour, and went back home all for 2 dozen donuts (it was buy a dozen and get the second one 80 cents), and let me tell you–these donuts are worth it! I actually have never been to a Krispy Kreme before (oops, teehee) but this was a great first time for me and it was so memorable and fun. There were lines out the door and for the drive through (which had a line going out onto the highway!).
(Cover your eyes now if you don’t want to see food porn)
I shared them with some of my loved ones and they are all gone, thank goodness. Now I’m probably good on donuts for about 2 weeks 😉
My new morning routine
This week I tried Tone It Up’s Bombshell Beauty potion and discovered how much I LOVE it–mainly because I get to use pineapple juice. It’s about half a cup of pineapple juice, 1 T apple cider vinegar and 1 T honey.
I always have a problem with the honey going down to the bottom, so it’s a little sour, but I love the combo. Waking up and having this first thing is really nice! It revs up your metabolism and helps you feel full.
I had this (I believe) everyday last week and I’ve felt great! Definitely recommend, especially if you don’t usually have something for breakfast (I find breakfast really hard to eat sometimes) and this’ll hold me until I’m ready to eat.
Who the hell would think that would come out of my mouth? Let me tell you–not many.
Saturday I was feeling a bit adventurous and really wanted to get a highlight, since I’ve never had one and this video from Simply Nailogical made me just have to get one (I love Cristine!). Now, I am LOVING that highlight. Glad I bought it.
I only buy cruelty free makeup; I’ve been doing this for years now. It’s just.. better. I love animals. It’s something that’s important to me.
Not only did I get highlighter, but also a new concealer (that’ll actually help me with my dark under eye circles from my spontaneous sleep schedule), eyeliner and contour kit (never hard one of those either).
I’m trying to learn how to do makeup, lol. That’s just interesting to think of in itself. I like to dress up sometimes and get my girl on, ya know? Makeup is fun to experiment with and can make you feel really good about yourself (although you already look good).
Lesson learned: put yourself first.
While this weekend was great and very memorable, I also had a life lesson (that I believe has come up before for me, but I didn’t act upon it). That is to love yourself and put yourself first.
I am a firm believer that we need to take care of ourselves first before we can love others. When we’re content with ourselves, and love ourselves, we can give those around us more love and support. If we don’t look after ourselves, the amount of kindness and support and other good stuff we can give others is less than. Catch what I’m saying?
Do things YOU want to do–you have so much potential, and I hope you know that. The only person stopping you from reaching your goals is you. Instead of telling yourself you don’t have what it takes, be your #1 cheerleader. Don’t wait on anyone or anything. Do what you want–this is your life and you choose how you live it. No one can take your fun or happiness away without your permission.
I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend as well! I’d love to hear what you were able to do and what fun you had 🙂
Get ready for my new post coming up Tuesday or Wednesday–we’re gonna be talking about building a butt (say what?!)! Make sure you sign up for the newsletter below so you find out when the post comes out!
